Smart moves for pain management

1. Shoulder stretch

 

Shoulder Stretch

  • Lift your left hand
  • Bring it to your left chest
  • With your right hand, hold your left arm across your body
  • Pull your elbow into your chest
  • Feel a gentle stretch in your shoulder
  • Repeat the same for the right hand
2. Shoulder movement

Shoulder Movement

  • Slowly lift up your shoulders
  • Hold for 10 seconds
  • Bring them down gradually
  • As you lift them and bring them down you will experience a nice stretch
  • Repeat this at least 10 times
3. Sitting back stretch

Sitting Back Stretch

  • Straighten your back
  • Bring your feet together
  • Hold your back with your palms
  • Lean back over your hands making a concave structure
  • Feel the stretch
  • Hold the posture for at least 5 seconds & repeat
4. Neck stretch

Neck Stretch

  • Sit straight
  • Gently move your neck toward the left
  • Continue to look to the left and feel the stretch
  • Repeat the same for the right side
  • Do this for each side at least 5 times
5. Shoulder extension

Shoulder Extension

  • Sit straight
  • Lift both your hands
  • Bring them closer to your ears
  • Join the hands
  • Turn your palms upwards such that they are facing up
  • Stretch your entire upper body
  • Hold for at least 10 seconds
